I'm right, and you're wrong.

I don't watch FOX News. I can attribute this to the fact that I am an intelligent person who wants to hear actual news and not Bush propaganda. But sometimes I catch glimpses of it from online snippets, and its always a site to behold.

Take for instance this little interview from Your World with Neil Cavuto. He does mostly economic reporting, but don't let that fool you. Cavuto is no stranger to the world of right wing hacks. I remember once he had on Harvard Professor of Economics and former Labor Secretary Robert Reich on his program to talk about the tax code, and Cavuto's level of intelligence led him to say "You just hate rich people don't you?" to Secretary Reich. To which Reich just nodded his head in disbelief that he was forced into a discussion with such a raging idiot.

But this interview is a stark reminder of how FOX News #1 priority at all times is to shill for President Bush. Cavuto has on an 81 year old veteran from WW2 named Tom Mahoney and he immediately proceeds to lob him some softball and leading questions to try and make the guy slam Bush, and support the war on terror. Its just startling to actually here it. Its like watching the Chairman of the Republican Party do an interview. The funny thing is Tom Mahoney has none of it. He thinks the war is a huge mistake, has no comparison to WW2, and we should pull out now.

The leadership of the American Legion are Clinton hating Republican toadies who hate free speech if its directed at a conservative.

Here's the proof,

According to the establishment opinion cartel, opposing U.S. military intervention in Yugoslavia is akin to opposing our men and women in uniform. Yet that smear is hard to apply to the American Legion, since it is a wartime veterans organization consisting of nearly three million members who — unlike the President — have not expressed their loathing for the military.

Here we have them clearly stating that publically opposing A presidents actions to send troops to battle does not equate to "opposing our men and women in uniform". I couldn't agree more. The last part about Clinton loathing the military, is a lie. he never said it. So they are on record as being irrational Clinton haters.

In fact they went on as to why they opposed Clinton's military decisions. Here are 2:
  • Guidelines be established for the mission, including a clear exit strategy;
  • That there be support of the mission by the U.S. Congress and the American people; and
So to wrap up the position of the American Legion it is as follows:
If A president decides to send troops to battle, he must have a clear exit strategy and the support of the American people. And publically opposing any military action because of this, or any other reason, must not be contstrued as being against the troops.

OK, then. Using simple logic and assuming, just for a second, that these people aren't blantant right wing hypocrites, we can assume that they are vehemently and publically opposed to the war in Iraq. Bush has no exit strategy. The majority of the public thinks we shouldnt be there. And if and when they say this, they aren't against the troops, sicne they demanded the immediate withdrawal of all troops from Yugoslavia.

Now that the draft dodging President is a Republcian, they are making the exact opposite arguments.

"Public protests against the war here at home while our young men and women are in harm's way on the other side of the globe only provide aid and comfort to our enemies."

If we protest a Republican war, we are helping terrorosts.

"No one respects the right to protest more than one who has fought for it, but we hope that Americans will present their views in correspondence to their elected officials rather than by public media events guaranteed to be picked up and used as tools of encouragement by our enemies,"

That's my favorite. If you oppose the war, send a private letter to your congressman. Unless you're the American Legion, then send out a public press statement to the media demanding troops be pulled out imediatly and opposing the war.

The delegates voted to use whatever means necessary to "ensure the united backing of the American people to support our troops and the global war on terrorism."

IF the american people are agaisnt a War initiated by a Democrat, then we must remove the troops. If they oppose a war initiated by a Republican, tehay are "opposing the troops" and we must make sure they support it.

IT goes on like this. Suffice it to say, the American Legion are a disgrace to the uniforms they wore and to the constitution they supposedly fought for, but now are against. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Breaking News:
The Sub base in Groton is saved from closing.

Good news. Granted the partisan hack in me was hoping to use the possible closings as a bludgeon to pound hack right wing toady congressman Rob Simmons over the head with in next years election, but this is a much better result.

From the man who prays every day for a Supreme Court Justice to die.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson called on Monday for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, calling him a “terrific danger” to the United States.

Hey, its what Jesus wanted.

Fortuanlty there are smarter people around.

Suspending the ban on assassinations—as established in Executive Order 12333—serves no practical purpose. The Executive Order is not an obstacle to effective prosecution of the War on Terrorism; in fact, its reach is very limited. Although common sense might suggest that “assassination” equates with the targeted killing of a specific individual, the term is in fact a legal term of art with a very narrow definition derived from the Law of War. As a result, Executive Order 12333 only prohibits a very narrow spectrum of attacks in wartime or against clear threats to national security. As the United States has not typically engaged such means to attack “leadership targets” for several decades, publicly rescinding the offer now would grant no more freedom to act and only would serve to undermine the United States’ public diplomacy abroad.

It's as if the bloated drug addict was in a race to see how fast he can get to hell.

Limbaugh referring ot Cindy Sheehan whose son was killed in Iraq, and is daring to criticize poor leader:
I'm weary, ladies and gentlemen, of even having to express sympathy. 'Oh, she lost her son!' Yes, yes, yes, but (sigh) we all lose things."

She loses a son, he lost the keys to his Cadillac once.

Can he please go to jail now?

Update: Olbermann adds his 2 cents to the fray.

Say it with me:
Connecticut Rules.

HARTFORD, Conn. - The state of Connecticut filed a federal lawsuit Monday challenging President Bush’s No Child Left Behind school reform law, arguing it is illegal because it requires expensive testing and programs it doesn’t pay for.
The lawsuit, which officials said was the first of its kind to be brought by a state government, asks a federal judge to declare that the federal government cannot require state and local money be used to meet federal testing goals.

Cindy Sheehan, a woman whose son was killed in Iraq, is standing vigil outside Bushs Crawford ranch during Bush's record 5 week long vacation demanding to speak with him and ask him why her son had to die for a war based on a lie.

Because she has the audacity to do this, the right wing media, following their orders, have relentlessly smeared her, and Bush has since refused to speak to her, even to the point of having his motorcade drive by her on the way to a multi million dollar fundraiser (I bet the crabcakes were to DIE for! And they all had nice little yellow ribbon pins because they care about the troops dammit!).

When asked about it after his daily nap and brush cleaning, Bush said:

President Bush, noting that lots of people want to talk to the president and "it's also important for me to go on with my life," on Saturday defended his decision not to meet with the grieving mom of a soldier killed in Iraq.

You see, he needs to go on with his life. He doesnt have time for that woman and her stupid dead soldier son! He's busy doing the following:

In addition to the two-hour bike ride, Bush's Saturday schedule included an evening Little League Baseball playoff game, a lunch meeting with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, a nap, some fishing and some reading. "I think the people want the president to be in a position to make good, crisp decisions and to stay healthy," he said when asked about bike riding while a grieving mom wanted to speak with him. "And part of my being is to be outside exercising."

Life without a shred of a conscience to slow you down. Sounds like bliss doesn't it?

On a related note, I have a meeting with my boss later telling him that after today I wont be back to work until September 20th, because it will help me make "crisp decisions" and "stay healthy". Wish me luck.

Maureen Dowd hits one out of the park, as she is wont to do. I always imagine her writing these columns in a lace bra and panties while I’m sleeping in the other room after we finished up a marathon session of sweaty morning sex. Smart chicks turn me on, what can I say.

George “states rights” Bush strips more rights from States. In this case, mine.

The man who wrote “Walking in Memphis” shot in the head. Only suffers minor injuries. Write your own joke there.

Paul Hackett is the shit.

For anyone who doesnt know he is a Democrat that ran for Congress in a special election in heavily Republican dominated Ohio 2nd district. The race was signifigant for many reasons. One because Hackett was the first veteran of the Iraq war to run for Congress, 2 because he was doing it in a heavily dominated Republican district, and 3. because he doesn't take shit from anybody.

His opponent, some empty headed sack of shit named Jean Schmidt smeared him mercilessly. And even though she won, she won by only 4%, in a district where a Democrat hasn't gotten more than 30% in the last 20 years.

This man is the future of the democratic party. Instead of sitting there and smiling graciously when you get smeared, he fights back. When Rush Limbaugh, who didnt serve because he had an anal cyst, called Hackett a "staff puke" and accused him of only going to Iraq to "pad his resume", here is what Hackett had to say in response.

"That's typical for that fat-ass drug addict to come up with something like that."

"I think it probably says more about Rush Limbaugh than it does anybody else that he comes up with those thought processes. And I think it's indicative of today's Republican Party, which is patriotic-lite translated to anybody who serves their country who truly who truly serves their country and demonstrates it by their actions as opposed to their flapping gums. "

Now thats what I'm talkin about!

I'm sure a lot of liberals democRATS, progressives, sane people and hot chicks with huge hooters were upset by the 2004 election results and aren't ready to get back into the mix, but this is important.

I urge each and every one of my 3 readers to vote for Kaysar to be allowed back into the Big Brother 6 house. Vote early vote often. Because eric is a douchebag.

Rafael Palmeiro busted for using steriods.

Here's what he said to Congress in MArch:

"Let me start by telling you this: I have never used steroids. Period. I don't know how to say it any more clearly than that. Never."

And he said this under oath. So he may be in big trouble. But whats even worse is he's making this guy look more credible.
