Because face it.
I'm right, and you're wrong.

I gotta start watching the Scarborough show on MSNBC. Not because I like Scarborough. The man is a lying dishonest partisan hack. But the man has gotten totally bitch slapped by his guests with the facts not once, not twice, but three times within a week.

To quote Christopher Hitchens (who I don't even like)

You should be ashamed of the show you are running.

Waiters who are nauseated by food.

If I had to do things over again, I'd probably try being a lawyer rather than a failed artist (Hartford Art school class of 96!) and wildly successful blogger, because I am endlessly fascinated at how the law works.

And I am chomping at the bit to read the oral arguments in the Supreme court case of MGM VS. Grokster, heard yesterday (SCOTUS doesn’t release transcripts for a month). It has far reaching ramifications for dvd burners everywhere.

Ten Bucks Clarence Thomas doesn't utter a word.

A good NPR story here, and in the meantime you can hear the oral arguments from the 9th circuit here.

I hope Jerry Falwell has a Living Will, because the man is clearly brain dead.

And judging from the size of his head, he's gonna require one hell of a big feeding tube.

John Fund of the Wall Street Journal making pronouncements about the morals of a man hes never met and is spending every day at his wifes bedside:

Michael Schiavo, the closer you look at him, the more unsettling the whole case gets, because, frankly, he has not been a good husband.

The same John Fund who was arrested for assaulting his ex girlfriends 27 year old daughter, who he was also sleeping with and talked into having an abortion?

Yeah, that John Fund.

We need to clone Al Franken.

He goes on Scarborough Country last night and eviscerates him and all the bogus arguments about the Schiavo case within about 2 minutes time.

He wouldve done even better if it wasn't for the fact that Scarborough constantly interrupts him, never lets him finish his point, and then quickly drops him to talk to other guests. Of coutrse all those other guests are right wing loonies like William Donohue. And Franken eviscerates him as well.

As Atrios said, The clown show continues.

The fate of Terri Schiavo
FLORIDA TODAY

We only have to go to the opening paragraphs of FLORIDA TODAY's Tuesday editorial "An outrageous act" about Congress's involvement in the Terri Schiavo case to see that even basic assertions of fact are at best disputable.

On that we agree. The right wing loonies have been ignoring the basic facts of this case from the start because it interferes with there fanaticism.

It states that Terri is in "a persistent vegetative state for 15 years since her heart attack" and "medical evidence showed Terri has no chance of recovery."Did the editors interview registered nurse Carla Iyer, who personally treated Terri for a year and a half? She said in a sworn court affidavit that Terri "was alert and oriented. Terri spoke on a regular basis saying things like 'mommy' and 'help me" and 'hi' when I came into her room."

Iyer says Terri would sit up in the nurse's station from time to time and laugh at stories they told. She felt pain and would indicate so. Carla fed her by mouth and not by tube. Does this sound like a woman in persistent vegetative state for the past 15 years?

No, but the courts did review her affidavidt and found her story to be completely unsubsutantiated and laughably outrageous.

The judge said;
Ms. Iyer details what amounts to a 15-month cover-up which would include the staff of Palm Garden of Lago Convalescent Center, the Guardian of the Person, the Guardian ad Litem, the medical professionals, the police and, believe it or not, Mr. and Mrs. Schindler. Her affidavit clearly states that she would "call them (Mr. and Mrs. Schindler) anyway because I thought they should know about their daughter." The affidavit of Ms. Law speaks of Terri responding on a constant basis. Neither in the testimony nor in the medical records is there support for these affidavits as they purport to detail activities and responses of Terri Schiavo. It is impossible to believe that Mr. and Mrs. Schindler would not have subpoenaed Ms. Iyer for the January 2000 evidentiary hearing had she contacted them as her affidavit alleges.

Or are the editors aware of Dr. William Hammesfahr, Nobel Prize nominee neurologist, who examined Terri for 10 hours and said, "Terri does not require a feeding tube to be fed" and that "with proper therapy she would be able to regain some speech and mobility."

Are you aware that he is NOT a nobel prize nominee, and that he is going around falsely claiming he is? Did you also know that this doctor was also disciplined in 2003 by the Florida Board of Medicine?

This is a story about a woman neglected proper care and therapy by those now wishing to see her expire. It's a story about disguising a right-to-kill edict in right-to-die clothes.I only pray that our judicial system won't continue to be party to it.
U.S. Rep. Dave WeldonDistrict 15

I only pray that lying sacks of shit like yourselves who are willing to use this poor woman as a prop to drum up political support eventually get exactly what you deserve.

Now that the grotesque politicization of Schiavo is coming to an end, perhaps we should turn to freeperland for ideas on where to go next.

What if the husband has an untimely and unfortunate accident? Would custody then shift to the parents? If there is a God in this world maybe he will get hit on the head and go into a coma and the parents in law will have to make decisions for him.

Why can't this piece of trash "husband" die-He's such a POS! He has his "girlfriend" & 2 illegit kids why doesn't he just go away. Prayers for Terri & her family-maybe when Teri passes she'll do something to rid the world of Michael!

Guess we have the answer on who is really running this country. Lawyers, communists, and sex perverts.

But hey. Agree or disagreee, one thing you can't deny, they are georgous.

AT least Cheney and I can share one thing in common.

Bush's advisor on Bioethics beliefs on the "evils" of cloning came from watching Star Trek.

Now there are about a thousand jokes here, but here are the ones I finally decided on.

Meet Bush’s new Secretary of Defense, Kevin Lapolla.

His New Army Secretary, Matt Leto.

And of course, his new Secretary of Education, Akshay Buddiga.

Whole thing makes you want to scream.

Happy St. Patricks Day.

For those interested, The idiots guide to todays Irish politics.

Also, The IRA and Sinn Fein is getting hammered in the media for their involvement in a Bank Raid that Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams knew about while he was negotiating at Downing Street on the peace deal. They are also getting a lot of (deserved) criticism for the stabbing death of A catholic named Robert McCartney, who was killed by IRA members in what looks like nothing more than a bar brawl, yet in the aftermath the IRA has intimidated witnesses to keep quiet. The fallouyt has been the IRA has thankfully lost whatever romatic freedom fighter mystique they ever had with sympathetic Irish Americans. Hopefully the IRA as we know it will cease to exist.

You can now go back to 24 hour Robert Blake Coverage.

Also, If you drink Green beer today, you are a dewschebag. Shamrock Shakes are allowed, cuz they are the shit.

Yet another example of the liberal media at work. Bush and the Republicans talks about Private accounts for over a year. Lo and behold, the word doesnt poll well. Poof, now we must call it "Personal Acocunts". and if anyone in the media doesnt follow along, they are America hating liberals.

Now comes the "Nuclear option". Where Senate Majority leader Frist will take the unpredented step to change the rules of the senate and effectively end filibusters so they shove all their extremist judges through with only a 51 vote majority. It's no secret that since the Republicans have been in power they have been the most arrogant, unethical and corrupt majority in modern Congressional history, but this is beyond the pale. ANd teh democrats, to my surprise, ahve grown a backbone and promised to literally stop the senate cold if it happens.

But I digress...

It's no longer the "Nuclear option", Principled conservative Sean Hannity has now renamed it the "Constitutional option". And if you still call it the nuclear option, I have one question for you.

Why do you hate America so much?

Long live the Chuggernaut.

I'm as much of a fan of Steve Carell as the next guy (especially if the next guy is this dude ) , since his slimmin down with steve pieces on TDS will go down in comic history, but I can't imagine this new version of The Office being better than the original BBC version.

Man. That kid wants his change.

In the 108th Congress, House Republicans became the most arrogant, unethical and corrupt majority in modern Congressional history.

An excellent and accurate opening sentence to an excellent 147 page report on the disgrace that is the Republican House.

Read it.

Robert Novak in this moths Vanity Fair.

"I'm trying to tell the truth and taking positions that I hope are godly positions, positions that I hope are helpful to my fellow man," he tells Vanity Fair in a profile that hits the stands tomorrow. "And I don't think there's any law against enjoying myself in the process."

After getting over the spasms of laughter after hearing legendary liar Novak say he’s “trying” to tell the truth, I got to the part about doing gods work.

Interesting. Apparently his god must hate America then since Novak was the one who betrayed his country by revealing the identity of an undercover CIA operative at the behest of the Bush white House for the sole purpose of smearing a political opponent.

My gods way better than his god.
