Fantastic news:

BELFAST, Northern Ireland - The Irish Republican Army announced Thursday it is renouncing violence as a political weapon and resuming disarmament in a dramatic declaration designed to revive Northern Ireland’s peace process.

Hmm. If only there was a way I could celebrate this news in style....

Whenever I feel bad about how horrible my Senator is (Lieberman, natch), I take comfort in that the Senator from the great state of Pennsylvania is light years ahead of him in duechebaggery.

I've come to the conclusion that someone somewhere has some really bad dirt on him and has blackmailed him into self destructing before the 2006 elections. Now Santorum has been a right wing kook and political hack for years, but hes just ratcheting it up a notch lately. In the last few weeks he's blamed instances of pedophelia in the catholic church in Boston on the fact that its a city that supports liberal politics. (hes got a point. at the recent young democrats meeting the agenda was 1. raising the minimuim wage 2. higher environmental standards for polluting companies, 3, repealing the estate tax on millionares 4, properly equipping our soldiers in iraq and 5, finding out new ways to rape small boys). Then hes castigated poor families for having the audacity to both hold jobs (all the while supporting tax cuts for the rich), and now, and this is the kicker, he thinks State Governments should control whether or not a couple can use birth control.

I give him credit. He doesnt run away from his insanity. He actively embraces it.

Bush then:
"it is unacceptable behavior to leak classified information when we have troops at risk."

Bush then again;
Q: Given — given recent developments in the CIA leak case, particularly Vice President Cheney’s discussions with the investigators, do you still stand by what you said several months ago, a suggestion that it might be difficult to identify anybody who leaked the agent’s name?
THE PRESIDENT: That’s up to –
Q: And, and, do you stand by your pledge to fire anyone found to have done so?
THE PRESIDENT: Yes. And that’s up to the U.S. Attorney to find the facts.

Bush now:
After originally saying anyone involved in leaking the name of covert CIA operative would be fired, Bush said: "If somebody committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration."

Someone warn admitted felon Elliot Abrams...

Karl Rove's lawyer is a retard

You gotta love Karl Roves lawyer Donald Luskin. This is a man who recieved payments from a client in the form of gold bars and transfers from Swiss bank accounts. The client was convicted of laundering drug money using gold bars and swiss bank acocunts. When he was forced to return the moeny, Luskin argued he had no idea that the money he recieved was dirty....

In other words he's just like his Client Karl Rove. An unethical scumbag. But unfortunalty for Rove he's also retarded.

From an interview by jackoff Byron York in the National Review:

"Look at the Cooper e-mail," Luskin continues. "Karl speaks to him on double super secret background...I don't think that you can read that e-mail and conclude that what Karl was trying to do was to get Cooper to publish the name of Wilson's wife."

For anyone who might be reading this and is just as retarded as York and Luskin, let's see what Cooper says:

The grand jury asked about one of the more interesting lines in that e-mail, in which I refer to my conversation with Rove as being on "double super secret background," a line that's raised a few eyebrows ever since it leaked into the public domain. I told the grand jury that the phrase is not a journalistic term of art but a reference to the film Animal House, in which John Belushi's wild Delta House fraternity is placed on "double secret probation." ("Super" was my own addition.) In fact, I told the grand jury, Rove told me the conversation was on "deep background." I explained to the grand jury that I take the term to mean that I can use the material but not quote it, and that I must keep the identity of my source confidential.

Now that the GOP has been given its orders from on high, the shocktroops are doing what their told and defending a traitor.

My favorites;

The Norm Coleman “Whether or not someone in the white House committed treason is simply none of our business” excuse.
Coleman: “We Have Enough To Do In The Senate In Minding Our Own Business Than To Be Sticking Our Noses Into Someone Else’s Business.

Bob Dole
“It Is Incredibly Irresponsible For Individuals And Organizations To Make Accusations Based On Rumor And Innuendo.”

Bob Dole (August 22nd 2004 referring to Kerry and the Swift Boat smears)
“Three Purple Hearts and never bled, that I know of. “

This one deserves mention simply because it is a flat out bald faced lie.
“He Knew Then That Much Of What Joe Wilson Was Saying Was Untrue.
Rep. Kay Granger.

My favorite though is Pete King. In one outburst he just unleases all the slime at his disposal. First he smears Joe Wilson with a lie

"He said the vice president recommended him."

Then says the media should be shot because they never called Joe Wilson on the lie that King said he commited that he never did.

"And I think people like Tim Russert and the others, who gave this guy such a free ride and all the media, they're the ones to be shot, not Karl Rove."

And then finally comes up with the most convincing defense of Rove I've seen yet.

"Listen, maybe Karl Rove was not perfect. "

So to wrap up, if you think Karl Rove should be fired and or go to jail for commiting treason, you need to mind your own business, because nobodies perfect, and we should shoot Tim Russert.

Brit Hume's first reaction upon hearing about the terrorist attack in London that killed over 30 people and counting.

I mean, my first thought when I heard -- just on a personal basis, when I heard there had been this attack and I saw the futures this morning, which were really in the tank, I thought, "Hmmm, time to buy."

Hmm. I wonder what the first reaction that went through his head when he found out his son commited suicide?
